Just Hi...

Hey all!  Can I wish a couple new followers a sweet welcome ~ nice of you to give my silly blog~a~roonie a try:)

Stitching...  Been stitching some smalls just for fun, nothing to share just yet.  I've been wanting to try 40 ct. linen so I got my rear-gear over to my LNS and picked up a small piece.  I chose Lakeside Linens 40 ct. Palomino, and found it easy to work with, really quite nice.  If you're also wondering about 40 ct., go ahead and try it ~ don't fear the linen lol!

Cooking...  Tried a new pot roast recipe in the crockpot, this is now my go~to recipe, dump-it easy, pantry friendly, wonderful flavor, f.a.b.u.l.o.u.s.  I've been known to crockpot overnight while we sleep and then set it to warm the next morning, works well when you want to have a mid-day early dinner.  Seriously, is there anything better on a lazy day or chilly night than pot roast?  Here's leftovers from the microwave.
I skipped browning the meat and thickening the gravy, go figure:)
Note:  My 4 lb. roast took a full 9 hours to become fork tender, so let 'er cook a good long while if ya try it!

Critters...  What I thought was a hail storm hitting the house at 2 a.m. was a huge raccoon perched on the skinny minny handrail at the front steps, clawing away on the cedar siding.  Very weird to see him (or her) up there digging for gold, I mean what was the point exactly?  We've lavished him and his furry friends with a very long and cozy woodpile, he's gotta dig on the house to thank us?  He (or she) fled the scene when the porch light came on, good thing cause I was about to begin a very loud and serious tongue lashing!  More than once I've been in the driveway at 3 a.m., in my bare feet, in my jammies, screaming at the retarded crowing rooster next door, so my middle of the night shenanigans wouldn't really surprise the neighbors.  Noah's Ark meets Green Acres, you get the idea:)

Thx again for visiting, as always I've been enjoying following your blogs, see ya next time!

I'm happy that your experience with 40ct. went well. It could of very easily gone the other way.

  3. That pot roast looks YUMMY...makes me know what I'm having Sunday dinner LOL. Raccoons are funny though...they have such funny personalities (besides the annoying 2am wake up) LOL

  6. I've only tried 40 ct. once, Sue, but really enjoyed it, too... I hope that raccoon is gone for good--they can be very pesky! And thanks for the link to the pot roast... Always looking for nice crockpot recipes :)

Enjoy your week, Sue--looks like a lovely one weather wise!

  7. When you said 40 ct, I immediately thought YIKES... don't fear the linen, lol that cracked me up!

Yum, pot roast is one of my favorite meals and that looks so delicious even at one in the morning, hehe.

Raccoon are so cute though, haha. Glad you didn't have to fight it, they can be so mean sometimes.

    Enjoy your weekend~
