~ FREEBIE FRIDAY SURPRISE ~

Hi there! Even if at first a design doesn't immediately strike our fancy, often a stitcher's eye envisions something other than what the designer intended.

Maybe you also see something that could be adapted from HERE.

A lovely weekend to you and please make time for some Sweet Stitchin...

~ MY LITTLE SOLDIERS ~

Hi there! Not sure when, but years ago I started calling these *My Little Soldiers*, because every summer they shock and awe me~LOL. I open the fridge and there they are, many-many-many of them, DH sneaks them across lines and into the house EVERY DAY when the garden is plentiful. I gently suggested to DH that he move out, pitch a tent in the garden and live there for the summer, so he can reach out and grab one or two when it's mealtime. The man has a zucchini fetish. I love the man, so zucchini is a big part of our lives in the summer.

So today I attacked these little soldiers with my grater and shredded them.....
..... into this!
This casserole was huge and yummy. There was cooked turkey to use up, so I tweaked recipe a bit and added turkey to the bottom layer. Recipe can be found at Simply Recipes HERE.

It's a constant battle, I *know* they're planning their next invasion and multiplying just a few feet away~LOL. If you'd like to join forces and share a winning zucchini recipe, I'd be ever so much obliged...

~ FEATURED STITCHY BLOG - *UPDATED* ~

Hi there! I was lucky enough to make yet another lovely new friend recently (YAY), turns out she has lots of family near me, so hopefully one day we'll actually get to meet. She's Carol the Librarian of *Stitching Dreams*, lives in beautiful Pennsylvania and posts weekly when she finishes an ornie, which by the way is her year long commitment ~ YOWSER! I guess she can't fudge it and claim she lost her needle~LOL!

If you haven't yet peeked around her lovely blog, scram over to my toolbar, link is there.

Thank you for the inspiration Carol, you've got a true *git 'er done* stitchin attitude, and we ALL love that!

~ THE FLYING STRAWBERRY - IN FELT ~

Hi there! Marie's tutorial was easy and great fun! This little bugger did a lot of flyin around the house, as it's very very tiny and felt can be very slippery on the fingers-LOL! So, I'm puttin it out there for all of you to see, no french knots, no fancy beads, no fine silks, not quite perfect but for better or worse, it's going in my sewing basket:)
Sure would like to see yours if and when you try this!

~ IT'S STRAWBERRY SEASON - IN FELT ~

Hi there! I struggle at being crafty, it just doesn't come easily to me. I got so excited upon stumbling across this quick tutorial, photo compliments of Marie at *Permission to Unwind*. Thank you Marie for a great tutorial and permission to include your photo.

Tutorial with templates at Marie's blog HERE. Note~these are small, very small strawberries, maybe like they grow in the wild:)
Wouldn't this be an oh so cute gift for a stitchy friend or to hang anywhere in your home? Now that it's quiet here and I'm alone (YAY), I'll make time tonight to work up one or two of these lovelies:)

If you've not already tried one of these teeny tiny beauties, will you please join me? I'd love to see your finishes and share them with Marie, so please feel free to send me a pic~if you like. I have felt scraps in my stash, maybe you do too!

~ COULD NOT HELP MYSELF... ~

Hi there! I'll admit it, I'm weak, very very weak, just had to set everything else aside and start this wee prim freebie. Link to freebie chart is in my July 3rd Freebie Friday Surprise post, help yourself, if you stitch it, plz do share with us!

So, I was off to the LNS , hoping for the *perfect* floss. And VOILA I found this silk~ Waterlilies by Caron, color is Umbria. Seems the drabbier and uglier the greens, the more I like it:) The red is really a lovely maroon. This is a really fun stitch, am enjoying how the floss is coming together, not forcing the variegation, but letting it cover naturally. I really like it, about half done, what do ya'll think?

Thx for poppin' in friends:)

~ FREEBIE FRIDAY SURPRISE - CHRISTMAS IN JULY ~

Hi there! Hoping all my U.S. stitchy friends are looking forward to a nice loooong 4th of July holiday weekend and find time for love, family, friends and stitching:) Sorry I haven't posted much stitching lately. My only excuse is I've been blog reading, really enjoying it, seems every page I turn is a newly found treasure and I become enchanted in all the lovely designs, fibers and color choices.

This is a French blog, but plz don't let that hinder you. For those that need a gentle helping hand, look for Santa in his jammies, click on link above his head, wait patiently for graph to load and save to your puter.

Find it here: HERE , enjoy!
Floss used appears to be *Waterlilies 101 Cherry* by Caron.

I've been getting oodles of Friday hits which I humbly appreciate with one or two comments. Dear friends, it would be reassuring to know that my Friday feature is of interest.

Hope you like this chart as much as I do, what a beauty!

If you like it, plz let me know? Anonymous comments are always welcome!
